Twitter Book Tour
Since VANISHED comes out on August 18 (mark your calendar!), when many lucky people are on vacation, Joe won't be making many personal appearances to promote the book (see full event schedule). Instead, he’ll be as many places as possible in the virtual world: this website, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and as many other places as he can.
And for VANISHED, Joe is trying something quite new – a Twitter "Tour”. For every day of the tour, Joe (@joefinder) will be on Twitter for a designated hour and will answer questions from readers. This LIVE experience connects Joe with fans everywhere, all from the comforts of everyone’s own living room…or anywhere they happen to be! And, unlike internet "chat rooms," Joe's going to be answering questions immediately, in real time. Stop by, ask him whatever you want, and you'll get an immediate personal reply.
Want to chat with Joe on Twitter? Here’s how it will work:
Use the hashtag #josephfinder when posting a question for Joe on Twitter, if you are not using a twitter third party service such as www.tweetchat.com, which allows you to track and automatically denote the appropriate hashtag.
You’ll get to see questions from other fans and Joe’s answers to them as well, similar to attending a real-life author event.
Bethanne Patrick, “The Book Maven,” will moderate the tour chats and keep things running smoothly. You’ll see her on the Twitter tour as @thebookmaven.
