Here We Go...
Dear Friends -
So, today's the day -- the day that COMPANY MAN finally goes on sale and I go out on book tour. It should be available everywhere today. I look forward to hearing from you once you've read it.
Actually, some bookstores began putting it on sale this weekend, because a few reviews have already run. You know how Broadway actors used to hang out at Sardi's after their show opened and wait nervously for the reviews, wait for the press agent to come in with copies of the newspapers hot off the press? "Match me, Sidney!" It's sorta like that . . .

The First Reviews
Janet Maslin reviewed COMPANY MAN in the New York Times on Thursday, and gave it a really favorable review -- she said that "COMPANY MAN confirms what PARANOIA made clear: he has unusually keen instincts for back-stabbing in the business world." And how often do you get your picture in the New York Times if you're not a world leader or a serial killer?
The Boston Globe also gave it a terrific review, saying: "Finder has become a master of the modern thriller."
In the Sun-Sentinel, a newspaper with a huge readership in Florida, the widely respected mystery reviewer Oline Cogdill, gave COMPANY MAN a great (and also, I thought, quite sensitive) review in this past Sunday's paper: "Sharply created characters . . .makes the workplace as duplicitous a world as any in the Cold War. COMPANY MAN resonates with anyone who has seen corporate politics at its worst." You can read the whole thing here:
And more reviews to come this week. Fingers crossed.

| Prize Nomination |
And one bit of good news: PARANOIA was just nominated for a prestigious Barry Award -- the first time they've nominated thrillers. It's there alongside the excellent A DEATH IN VIENNA by Daniel Silva. The list is here.
